In the Summer of 2023, myself and several other young artists facilitated a series of family and community focused workshops in the London boroughs of Camden and Islington. Our creative approaches were inspired by Craft Council’s make-first pedagogy. The workshops aimed to invite communities from lower socio-economic and global majority backgrounds to local activities happening in Coals Drop Yard, a shopping complex and privately owned public space that forms part of the King's Cross Central development scheme.
Crafts Council is the national development agency for contemporary craft in the UK, funded by Arts Council England.
